| to Prevent Leakage of Customer and Business Information
BETHESDA, MD - May 2, 2006 - Fidelis Security Systems, the authority on extrusion prevention, today announced that Barak I.T.C., an international telecommunications provider based in Israel, deployed the DataSafe Extrusion Prevention System in the second quarter of 2005 and has recently upgraded to version 3.9. Barak relies on DataSafe to protect its critical digital assets which include prepaid calling card numbers and access codes, as well as personal and financial information. DataSafe is the first Extrusion Prevention System and the only network security solution that prevents the unauthorized network transfer of critical or sensitive information across all channels on gigabit speed networks. "As an integrated service provider in a highly competitive market, we know that attacks on our network operations directly impact our customers and we are happy to have DataSafe protecting our digital assets," said Moti Landes, IT Infrastructure and Network Management Manager at Barak. "We needed a solution that would protect our assets without requiring a complex and costly implementation and changes to our production infrastructure. DataSafe's unique approach to content interception technology enabled us to implement extrusion prevention on all channels without adding headcount. DataSafe is the only product we know of that allows us to map a business process to a logical combination of content and network policies and precisely identify suspected policy violations and internally launched attacks." While traditional security solutions control who has access to information and allow or disallow certain communication methods, they fall short of solving the extrusion problem because they don't consider the content. DataSafe focuses on the asset itself across all channels. Whether the threat is from trusted insiders or from external sources like hacking or industrial espionage, DataSafe's approach actually mitigates the risks of unauthorized network transfer of digital assets across all network channels including email, http, webmail, ftp, instant messaging and peer-to-peer communications. It protects against unauthorized disclosure of critical information including personally identifiable information, credit card data, source code and intellectual property, helping ensure compliance with internal polices and external regulations. "Barak needed a solution to avoid the unauthorized disclosure of customer information and other critical digital assets," said Timothy Sullivan, CEO of Fidelis Security Systems. "The DataSafe Extrusion Prevention System, with its unique all-channel capability, was the solution that met Barak's need to mitigate the risk of a network extrusion without impacting its ability to provide services to its customers."
