Fidelis CCNumberFinder™ (CCNF)

Tools and Intel

Fidelis Cybersecurity offers free tools and intelligence to the security community to ensure, together, we create a world where attackers have no place to hide.

Cybercriminals are targeting larger and larger volumes of PCI Information. Fidelis CCNumberFinder™ identifies payment card information, and was specially designed to improve the accuracy of other tools. CCNF is used every day by Fidelis Qualified Security Assessors (QSAs) and PCI Forensic Investigators (PCIFs) while conducting PCI assessments and during investigations.

CCNF is a command-line Microsoft Windows tool that searches for credit card account numbers within files on a file system. The tool is designed to improve accuracy. CCNF opens every file and examines each byte position within that file for a credit card number in UTF-8 and UTF-16LE encodings within a moving window. If a match is found, the bytes preceding and following the match are provided as context. CCNF also opens compressed files recursively. The data is output in CSV format and can be easily imported into Excel.

CCNF is available to members of the security community at no cost.
